Patches
A patch bundle is a signed .heatpatch file from the HEAT team that updates part of a deployed environment. Patches are how an air-gapped site takes an update, since nothing is downloaded from the internet. Open Operations, then Patches (/admin/operations/patches).
Uploading a patch
Drop a .heatpatch bundle onto the upload area, or browse for it. The bundle must come from the HEAT team. The list shows each uploaded patch with its severity, version, publish date, whether it needs a reboot, and its status.
Checking and executing
Open a patch to see a per-node matrix, which shows which cluster hosts the patch applies to. Check all evaluates every node, then Execute applies the patch to the nodes you select, after a confirmation.
Executing a patch is a live change to the environment. Apply it during a maintenance window, especially a patch that needs a reboot, and confirm the Host Agents are reachable first, since patches are delivered through them.
Patches are delivered by the HEAT node agent on each host. If a host’s agent is unreachable, its patches cannot be checked or applied until the agent is back.
