SmartEye module
The SmartEye module listens for SmartEye ’s own UDP data packets and publishes gaze, head pose, pupillometry, drowsiness and facial-emotion readings into HEAT Capture. SmartEye’s own software sends the data; this module never talks back to it.
Privacy
SmartEye’s own analysis includes facial-emotion estimation (anger, disgust, happiness, sadness, surprise, valence, mood) and a drowsiness estimate, alongside the gaze and pupillometry data every other eye tracker in this catalogue publishes. Whatever SmartEye’s software computes and sends, this module publishes unconditionally - there is no setting to exclude the emotion or drowsiness fields while keeping gaze. Treat this the same way you would any other biometric or inferred-state capture: confirm it fits your deployment’s consent and data-handling requirements before enabling it. See Data produced for exactly what is published.
What you need
- SmartEye’s own eye-tracking software running and configured to send its UDP output to the
workstation running HEAT Capture, on the configured port (default
5003).
Settings
Two settings, under HEAT.SmartEyeModule:
| Setting | Type | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
UdpPort | integer | 5003 | The UDP port this module listens on for SmartEye’s own broadcast. |
SendAtNativeRate | boolean | true | true: each SmartEye packet is published immediately as it arrives. false: HEAT Capture’s own per-tick poll publishes the most recently received packet instead. |
Beyond that, it exposes only the generic settings every HEAT Capture module has (Enabled,
Interval, OverrideNodeId/NodeId, Timeout) - see
Manage capture modules.
Interface Control Document
