Configure the Mentalista module
Settings are edited in HEAT Capture’s module settings UI, under HEAT.Mentalista.
Changing Port away from its default (5555) moves the listener outside the firewall scope
HEAT Capture grants this module. The module will still try to bind the new port, but nothing
guarantees the workstation firewall admits inbound connections to it. Do not change Port
without also updating the host’s firewall rule for this module.
Listener
| Setting | Type | Default | What it controls |
|---|---|---|---|
Host | string | localhost | Address the WebSocket listener binds to. |
Port | integer | 5555 | TCP port for the listener. See the warning above before changing this. |
The listener is only open while a capture session is running; it starts when the session starts and stops when the session ends.
Automatic connect
| Setting | Type | Default | What it controls |
|---|---|---|---|
ConnectOnStartup | boolean | true | Sends a connect command automatically once a client’s WebSocket session opens. |
TargetDevice | Bluetooth | Synthetic | Bluetooth | Which connect command payload to send: Bluetooth sends type M0 (the first paired Bluetooth device matching that filter); Synthetic sends type S06 (development test device). |
ConnectInitialDelayMs | integer (ms) | 250 | Delay after the WebSocket opens before sending the first connect command. |
ConnectRetryCount | integer | 3 | Additional retries after the first connect attempt receives a commandError. 0 disables retries. |
ConnectRetryDelayMs | integer (ms) | 1000 | Delay before the first retry. Later retries double this delay each time. |
MaxConnectRetryDelayMs | integer (ms) | 10000 | Upper bound the doubling retry delay never exceeds. |
Retries only happen after an explicit commandError response naming connect - a client that
never responds at all is not retried. See Section 4.4, Messages, of the
Interface Control Document for the exact message exchange.
Entity identity and rate
| Setting | Type | Default | What it controls |
|---|---|---|---|
EntityId | integer | 1 | Entity ID written into every published frame. |
EntityName | string | "" (empty) | Entity name. When empty, the device name reported in the connected client’s ready event is used instead; if neither is available, the entity is named mentalista. |
SendAtNativeRate | boolean | true | true: each prediction event is published immediately as it arrives. false: HEAT Capture’s own per-tick poll publishes the most recently received prediction instead, once. |
Host settings
This module also exposes the generic settings every HEAT Capture module has - Enabled,
Interval, OverrideNodeId/NodeId, Timeout. See
Manage capture modules for what each does.
