Configure the Varjo gaze module
Settings are edited in HEAT Capture’s module settings UI, under HEAT.VarjoGazeModule.
Do not raise Interval far above its default. The bridge buffers up to about a second of data in
an internal queue; this module drains it in a tight loop every tick, but only gets a tick as
often as Interval allows. Too large a value lets the queue fill, at which point the bridge
starts dropping the oldest queued frames and forcing a fresh H264 keyframe on the affected eye - a visible discontinuity in recorded video, not only a delay.
Gaze and video
| Setting | Type | Default | What it controls |
|---|---|---|---|
CalibrationType | Fast | OneDot | None | Fast | Calibration requested from the Varjo runtime when a capture session starts. None skips requesting calibration entirely - use this if calibration is already handled outside HEAT Capture. |
EnableVideoCapture | boolean | true | Captures and encodes stereo H264 video in addition to gaze and pose. Requires a Varjo Pro licence - see Overview. |
Interval | integer (ms) | 8 | How often this module polls the bridge for new frames. Overridden from the SDK-wide default of 1000ms specifically to keep pace with the bridge’s queue - see the warning above. |
Host settings
This module also exposes the generic settings every HEAT Capture module has - Enabled,
OverrideNodeId/NodeId, Timeout - with no Varjo-specific behavior beyond what
Manage capture modules already describes.
Interval is the one generic setting Varjo gives module-specific meaning to; see above.
