Configuration
Platform configuration is a deployment-wide key-value store. It holds the settings that shape how a HEAT environment behaves, so a value can change without rebuilding an image. The Configuration page is where operators read and change those values. Open Platform, then Configuration (/admin/configuration).
Simple and Advanced
The page has two modes.
- Simple presents guided toggles and fields for the common settings, such as compressing runner outputs, the Core API authentication mode, automatic task pruning and its windows, and the bulk analytics workers. This is the mode for everyday changes.
- Advanced shows the full key catalogue for power users and HEAT staff. Keys are grouped by their dotted prefix, for example
system.core.auth_mode. A filter matches on the key name and value.

Value types
Each value has a type: a string, a number, a boolean or a JSON document. The editor matches the type. The platform does not check a value against its type when it is saved, so a service that reads an invalid value falls back to its own default without a warning. Check the type before saving a value that looks like a number or a boolean but should stay text.
Values you cannot edit from the browser
Some values are shown but cannot be saved from the Control Centre.

| Redacted | The value is a credential, a connection string or a secret, shown as a placeholder. Saving it would overwrite the real secret |
| Runtime | The platform writes the value itself at runtime. Editing it by hand does nothing useful |
| Privileged | The key can only be written from inside the cluster. When the environment’s authentication mode is locked down, a browser save is refused |
| Create only | The key does not exist yet and can be created but not edited in place |
A Deleting a seeded key returns the service that reads it to its built-in default. Prefer changing a value to deleting the key. Advisories from the Platform Advisor often deep-link here to the exact key that needs attention.
